Morphological and anatomical changes during floral bud development of the trioecious Idesia polycarpa Maxim

Abstract Idesia polycarpa Maxim is described as a dioecious species, in which flowers are female or male, but we have also found individuals with bisexual flowers. The study aimed to provide the theoretical basis for artificial control on flowering, fruiting, and floral initiation of species. morphological anatomical structure female, I. was studied. In this study, routine paraffin section observation methods were used. flowering began late July. Results showed that short-branch terminal bud highest percentage position both male plants compared other types, proportion 68.6% 76.3%, respectively. Evidence from structural analysis suggests unisexual by abortion. ovary flower stops developing after ovule primordium initiation. had same at beginning development, differences emerge differentiation stage male. flowers, females males develop normally may produce fruits. bisexual, produced separate species; therefore, species trioecious.

Idesolide: a new spiro compound from Idesia polycarpa.

[structure: see text]. Idesolide, a new spiro compound possessing tetrahydrobenzodioxole structure, was isolated from the fruits of Idesia polycarpa Maxim. Its structure was established by NMR and MS spectroscopic analysis with single-crystal X-ray experiments. Idesolide significantly reduced nitric oxide production induced by lipopolysaccharide in BV2 microglial cells.
